Place the punch tip of the steel stud crimper where the track and the stud meet. Keep the punch on the outside of the track and squeeze the handles together. The punch will penetrate the track and the stud. It will leave no projection, like a screw or rivet head does, that could interfere with the wall board installation. Release the handles and ease the punch out of the penetration. This will produce a rectangular shaped hole, while curling the edge inward for securing the two layers of steel together. Repeat the process on the remaining contact points between the track and stud. |
